Our History
Alvechurch Legal Services — Will Writing & Estate Planning in the Heart of Worcestershire

Most Alvechurch locals will know Alvechurch Insurance Services — a village institution founded by David E Matthews in 1973. Brian Hawkins joined shortly after, his son Andy followed in the eighties, and the firm became a trusted fixture of the community for over four decades.

When Brian finally hung up his boots in October 2019 — at the remarkable age of 82, after 40+ years of service — his departure left a gap that felt impossible to fill. So instead of filling it, James Raybone and Laura Hawkins (Andy's daughter and Brian's granddaughter) built something new.

Having worked together at a national firm specialising in Wills, Powers of Attorney and Probate, they knew two things: they loved this area of law, and they wanted to do it differently. No faceless call centres, no surprise invoices — just friendly, expert advice on wills, lasting powers of attorney, trusts and inheritance tax planning, with transparent fixed-fee pricing from day one.
